The Financial Literacy Workshop with Affluent® The Wealth Management Card Game

Affluent, the wealth management card game is conceptualized, designed, and produced for the purpose of helping participants to gain a fundamental understanding and appreciation of investment concepts and principles. While some other financial card/board games tend to have a lengthy playtime, filled with financial jargons, and complex, Affluent aim to make financial education: an easy-to-understand, fun-filled, and enjoyable experience. 

The game is most suitable for those new in investment, and others who want to improve their financial education. The purpose of Affluent is to help participants build a deeper understanding in financial literacy, enabling them to make better financial decision, and build a brighter financial future for themselves and their loved ones. 

Uniqueness of Affluent:

·     The first player to complete the game, may not be the winner. 

·     There are many ways to end the game,depending on learning objectives of the proposed workshop.

·     The game rules can be ‘adjusted’ to suit players’ level of financial expertise/knowledge. 

·     The game play can be finish within 60 minutes, making it suitable for busy students and adults.

·     There is no complex paper work to record progress during play,making it simple to learn what truly matters 

·     It can be played multiple times with different outcome all the time. 

At the end of the workshop, the participant will be able to: 

·    Identify suitable financial assets to invest, during different market situations 

·    Understand the basic principles and the importance of responsible investment 

·    Learn the value of getting prepared for life’s unexpected ‘bad incidents’ 

·    Appreciate the role of wealth accumulation in an integrated financial plan 

·    Broaden the learning of financial vocabulary terms: Annuity, Bull & Bear Market, liquidity, diversification and more. 

·    Adopt the M|A|P|P|ED® approach in an integrated financial plan 

·    Embark on a continual path of financial education to build brighter financial future. 

·    Generate action plan to kickstart the DIFATM journey 

Learning Methodologies : 

·     Playing the Affluent wealth management card game 

·     Group Discussion and sharing of game play experience relatable to real life situations 

·   Participating in individual activities to draw up action plan for the DIFATM journey, with reference to the M|A|P|P|ED® methodology.
